Russian deputy FM: â€œThe problem of Gabala Radar Station doesnâ€™t threaten the development of bilateral relationsâ€

Deputy Minister said that this problem doesnâ€™t threaten the development of Russian- Azerbaijan bilateral relations: â€œThe mutual constructive relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are an example for the other countries.â€

Asked about the results of the negotiations on Gabala Radar Station, Ryabkov said: â€œWe couldnâ€™t hold negotiations through media outlets. Could you understand? Unfortunately, diplomacy is like grain cultivation. Therefore the envoys and negotiators must be provided with an opportunity. Officials of the Foreign Affairs and Defense ministries are directly participating in the negotiations.â€

Russian Kommersant newspaper reported about the problem appeared during the negotiations on Gabala Radar Station between Azerbaijan and Russia. It said Baku intends to increase the annual rental to $300 million.

First round of the negotiations on Gabala Radar Station was held in Moscow. Next round is expected to be held in Baku.
