OSCE events to mark 20th anniversary of Azerbaijanâ€™s participation

APA reports that the activities, designed to inform the public about the OSCE and its Office in Baku, which serves the whole country, will include roundtable discussions, conferences and talk shows with representatives of state agencies and civil society, as well as lectures at local universities and interviews for the local mass media outlets.

On April 16, Ambassador Koray Targay, the Head of the OSCE Office in Baku, will deliver a lecture at the Baku Slavic University on â€œOSCE-Azerbaijan: the way we passed in 20 yearsâ€. On April 17, he will open the OSCE-supported Legal Advice Centre in Mingachevir, followed by a roundtable discussion on â€œThe role of small and medium-sized enterprises in the economic development of Azerbaijanâ€. On April 19 he will visit the OSCE-supported Legal Resource Centre in Sumgayit and chair a roundtable discussion with civil society representatives.

Model OSCE Conference will be organized at Khazar University On April 22, the roundtable discussion at the Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy on â€œOSCE-Azerbaijan: priorities and scope of activitiesâ€ will be organized on April 24. On April 25, Ambassador Targay will participate at the OSCE and Press Council-organized talk show on Public TV on â€œMedia as Business. On April 26-27 the â€œWorkshop on Detention Monitoring and Reporting Skills in the framework of the National Preventive Mechanismâ€ will be by the OSCE Office in Baku and the Ombudsman Office.
