The 15th Eurasian Economic Summit kicks off in Istanbul

Istanbul. Mail Alizadeh – APA. The 15th Eurasian Economic Summit has kicked off today in Lutfi Kirdar Congress Center in Istanbul. APA’s Turkey correspondent reports that a letter of congratulation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was read at the opening of the meeting organized by Marmara Group Foundation.

The letter was read by Head of Public Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov. The letter says that the summits, which are organized by Marmara Group Foundation in Turkey that is contributing to protection of peace and tranquility in the world and socio-political progress, have positive effects on extension of regional and international conference, strengthening of political and economic relations between people and states in Eurasian region. The letter noted that political, cultural and economic relations strengthened between regional countries and new large-scale transnational projects were founded: “Azerbaijan participates closely in realization of this project, deepening of economic cooperation, ensuring of energy security of Europe. World-famous public, political, culture figures, scientists, businessmen and think tanks should hold discussions within various formats and pass adequate decisions in order to answer the new global development challenges.

Azerbaijani Head of State expressed confidence in the advancement of new ideas serving to solution of regional problems, development of interstate socio-political and cultural relations and interests of people and adoption of decisions in the 15th Summit.

Chairman of the Marmara Group Foundation Akkan Suver made a speech in the opening of the meeting and said that the participation of Chinese delegation led by vice-speaker of the Congress of People’s Republic of China at the meeting was important event.

Besides, Ali Hasanov, Vice Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Valeh Alasgarov, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov and Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov are participating in the summit called “Bronze Anniversary”.

This summit has been held for 14 years. Energy, economic and intercultural dialogue, woman leaders, as well as problems of famine and poverty will be included in the agenda in the summit that will be attended by heads of states, parliamentarians and famous people.

It was the first time various ministers of religion participated in the summit. Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh has been invited as an honorary guest to the Intercultural Dialogue.

The Summit will end with a meeting which will be held tomorrow in Izmir.
