Next meeting of Ukraine-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission to be held in Kiev next month

Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva â€“ APA. â€œThe trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine was $1.4 billion last year. The volume of trade turnover between our countries is dynamically developing,â€ Ukraineâ€™s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko said, APA reports.

He said the heads of both states repeatedly underlined the importance of raising economic relations to the level of political relations.

â€œOur resources allow us to raise the volume of trade turnover by $2 billion, I hope we will achieve it. Ukraine and Azerbaijan are on active stage of the negotiations on the delivery of liquefied gas. The next meeting of Ukraine-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission will be held in Kiev late in May, early in June. Energy, military and aerospace cooperation will be discussed at the meeting. We see how the field of aerospace is developing in Azerbaijan. Ukraine is ready to support this issue,â€ he said.

Ambassador said â€œAzerkosmosâ€ and Ukraineâ€™s â€œYuzhniyâ€ bureau are holding consultations to enhance cooperation in area of aerospace.
Touching on the development of tourism Alexander Mishchenko said direct flights will be launched from Baku to Lvov and Simferopol in summer.
Ambassador said Ukraine is interested in enhancing humanitarian relations and underlined that Azerbaijani Culture Days will be held in Ukraine this year, Ukrainian Culture Days will be held in Azerbaijan next year.
