2012 stage of Model Organization of Islamic Cooperation starts in Azerbaijan

Baku â€“ APA. Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) has started implementing 2012 stage of â€œModel OICâ€ since April 7, 2012. APA reports that the partners of the project are Azerbaijanâ€™s Ministry of Youth and Sport and Baku State University.

The main objective of the Model Organization of Islamic Cooperation (Model OIC) is to support strengthening of the international cooperation of the youth in OIC countries, help the young people, who wish to work at various bodies of the country and international organizations, to gain new skills and experience in management, communications, increase theoretical and practical skills on international relations. This program aims to contribute to the representation of the young leaders on the international level.

The second stage of the project that started on April 7 will last for two months. The youth working groups representing the leading OIC countries will discuss the urgent problems of the international relations within the framework of model games, they will mainly discuss the problems in OIC area having international impact, including Nagorno Karabakh conflict and give concrete proposals for solution of these problems. As a result of the two-month discussions, within the framework of the model games, OIC FM summit will be held in Baku and decisions will be passed regarding the abovementioned problems. The final resolutions will cover the proposals on solution of conflicts.

â€œModel OICâ€ â€“ the international education project will cover all OIC countries. The working groups that will win in the simulated meeting of â€œOIC FM summitâ€ at the end of the two-month courses will be awarded, 5 students distinguished in Baku summit will attend the international Model OIC simulated games in Kazan, Russian Federation in July, 2012.
