Chairman of Pakistani Senateâ€™s Foreign Relations Committee: â€œOther countries also shouldnâ€™t remain indifferent to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands and must follow example of Pakistani Senateâ€

Press service of the embassy told APA that ambassador Shikarov thanked his interlocutors for Senateâ€™s adoption of a resolution condemning the occupation of Azerbaijani lands and Khojaly genocide. The ambassador said that the Senateâ€™s adoption of resolution is a proof of Pakistanâ€™s support of justice. Then the ambassador spoke about the current relations between the two countries, thanked the event participants for Pakistanâ€™s support to our country in all issues, including Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Deputy Chairman of the Senate Mir Jan Mohammad Khan Jamali underlined that the adopted resolution satisfied the spirit of relations between the two fraternal countries and it is their moral obligation. He said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan were cooperating in all spheres and added that he would witness the rapid development of relations and achievement of good results. Jamali said that Azerbaijani Parliamentâ€™s Speaker Ogtay Asadov was invited to Pakistan and underlined that this visit would give an impetus to the development of relations between our countries parliaments and people.

Chairman of the Senateâ€™s Foreign Relations Committee Salim Saifullah Khan underlined that Pakistan was always near Azerbaijan and would continue its support afterwards. He spoke about Senateâ€™s resolution, underlined that the other countries shouldnâ€™t remain indifferent to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands and Khojaly genocide and must follow example of Pakistanâ€™s Senate.

Chairman of Committee on Information and Broadcasting Haji Ghulam Ali noted the unanimous vote of both senators from government and opposition for adopted resolution, assessed it as Pakistani peopleâ€™s fraternal attitude to Azerbaijani people.

Chairman of Senateâ€™s Committee on Rules and Privileges Tahir Hussain Mashhadi noted that he closely knew Azerbaijani people, spoke about the reforms implemented by President Ilham Aliyev and his achievements in the foreign policy.

Pakistan People’s Party Secretary General, Senator Jahangir Badar said that senators from his party fully supported the resolution. He underlined the importance of establishing cooperation between the Peopleâ€™s Party of Pakistan and New Azerbaijan Party and pay mutual visits.

In their speech, the senators KhurshÄ«d Ahmad, Syeda Sughra Imam, Nayyer Hussein, Abbas Khan Afridi said that Pakistan would support Azerbaijanâ€™s fair position afterwards.
