A civilian merchant ship carrying Azerbaijani citizens was attacked by a drone near the coast of Odessa, Ukraine, APA reports citing Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
It was reported that the incident occurred on July 14 at around 3:15 p.m local time. The civilian merchant ship "Atlas Bey" belonging to the Turkish Okean Maritime company was attacked by a drone.
11 of the ship's crew members are Azerbaijani citizens.
According to the information, except for the captain of the ship, who is an Azerbaijani citizen, the other crew members were taken ashore in Odessa. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory.
Measures are being taken to search for the captain of the ship.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine maintains constant contact with relevant agencies and takes appropriate measures to provide necessary consular support to Azerbaijani citizens.
