Elmar Mammadyarov receives French Senateâ€™s delegation led by Nathalie Goulet

Press service of the Foreign Ministry told APA that Mammadyarov welcomed the guests and underlined the importance of the visit for the development of bilateral relations. Mammadyarov said Azerbaijan accepted the French Senateâ€™s adoption of draft law â€œCriminalizing the denial of existence of genocides recognized by lawâ€ with emotion.
Mammadyarov reminded the guests that 20% of Azerbaijanâ€™s lands have bee still under occupation and about 1 mln people had to leave their homes. He told senators that Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has issued statement on this issue and informed them on steps taken towards the peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He also responded to several questions of the senators. The guests underlined the importance of this visit in increasing the bilateral relations to the higher degree.
