Deputy-Chairperson of Georgian Parliament offers condolences to Azerbaijani people over Khojaly genocide

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh â€“ APA. â€œI have heard and read much about Khojaly tragedy. I offer my condolences to the Azerbaijani people over this tragedy. All the tragedies committed in the Caucasus are common tragedy of the region. Women suffered much in these tragedies,â€ Deputy-Chairperson of Georgian Parliament Rusudan Kervalishvili said, APAâ€™s Georgia bureau reports.

â€œAs a mother I want peace in the Caucasus. I do not want such tragedies to happen again. I want peace to be established in the Caucasus,â€ she said.

Deputy-Chairperson of Georgian Parliament Rusudan Kervalishvili said the parliament adopted resolution #1325 â€œThe attitude of women towards peace and conflictsâ€, the document says every conflict must be solved peacefully.

â€œAt the parliament we consider major issues related to our country. The issues related to the conflicts, tragedies and â€œArmenian genocideâ€ have not been included into the agenda of the parliament yet. I find it difficult to express my opinion about it. But I want to say that the genocide of our peoples is a great tragedy. Our brothers and sisters were killed in the tragedy. We will always fight for free and peaceful Caucasus,â€ she said.
