Azerbaijani President visits the Mayor of Ljubljana

The Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Jankovich greeted Azerbaijani President and said that he had been in Baku seven years ago as a businessmen and he expressed his desire to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan’s capital Baku. Congratulating Azerbaijani President on the victory of Azerbaijani singers at Eurovision 2011 song contest, Jankovich said that many art representatives of Slovenia will visit Azerbaijan.

In turn, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated the work done on the development of Ljubljana. He noted that the Slovenian capital has become a great European city.

Referring to the Azerbaijani-Slovenian relations, President Ilham Aliyev said that the meetings, negotiations held and ceremonies to be hold during his visit will get closer the two states.

"Our political relations are at a very high level and these relations are developing day by bay. A forthcoming business forum will be a stimulus to the expansion of economic cooperation", - Azerbaijani President said.

The President stressed that Azerbaijan and Slovenia have many common interests, which creates opportunities for collaboration.

According to him, inter-parliamentary ties are at a very high level.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev gratitude the Mayor of Ljubljana for the congratulations on the victory of the Azerbaijani duet at Eurovision 2011 and stressed that Azerbaijan is ready to welcome Slovenian guests in 2012. He invited Jankovich to Baku and expressed a desire to further strengthen the Azerbaijani-Slovenian relations.
