Iran will not allow the United States to interfere in the administration of the Strait of Hormuz and will never permit it to do so, spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Ebrahim Zolfaqari said, APA reports.
He stated that Iran would decisively prevent any obstacle or threat created by the US military to the transit of tankers and commercial vessels.
He also stressed that vessels sailing outside the routes designated by Iran and without authorization from the Iranian military would face a firm response.
"We warn the leaders of the countries in the region: Any logistical support and cooperation provided to the US military will be regarded as an act of war against Iran's sovereignty and national security. If the war expands, its flames will engulf the entire region," Zolfaqari said.
He emphasized that responsibility for the spread of the conflict and the deterioration of security in the region lies with the United States and the countries cooperating with the US military.
It should be noted that US President Donald Trump has said that the United States will control the Strait of Hormuz and charge for doing so.
