Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko has submitted her resignation to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament). The Verkhovna Rada is expected to consider the matter in the near future, Ruslan Stefanchuk, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, wrote on Facebook, APA reports.
Stefanchuk said parliament will consider Svyrydenko's resignation in accordance with the established procedure.
He also thanked her for serving as head of government "during an exceptionally difficult period for the country".
"I am grateful to Yuliia for her work as head of the government during an exceptionally difficult time for our country, for her contribution to strengthening the economy, supporting the people and advancing Ukraine on its path towards the European Union.
I wish her every success in her future endeavours."
