Boris Tadic: “Azerbaijan is Serbia’s important partner”

Baku – APA. “Azerbaijan is an important partner of Serbia. It’s very important to strengthen the relations of our countries in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres”, APA reports.
Serbian President Boris Tadic stated in the meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev during the talks of two countries’ extended delegations. Serbian president once again clarified the position of his government related to Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
B. Tadic said that his country is interested in Azerbaijani companies’ participation in Serbia’s transport infrastructure as well as other areas: “This may be related to the agricultural sector as well. Serbia is also interested in using Azerbaijan’s transport-transit potential”.
In his turn, President I. Aliyev said that Azerbaijan-Serbia relations are rapidly developing: “In terms of discussions of various projects, such kinds of meetings are very important.” The head of state said that the mutual trust exist between two countries, and noted that the political relations are at high level, and the cooperation in the field of the energy has good prospects.
President I. Aliyev once again noted Azerbaijan’s position on Kosovo problem.
Azerbaijani President expressed his hope that intergovernmental commission’s activity would contribute to development of the relations.
