Ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin: â€œThere are separate forces in Russia, Dagestan, which want to politicize problem established in Khrakhoba and Uryanoba villagesâ€

Commenting Russia-Azerbaijan diplomatic consultations on settlement of problems of residents of Azerbaijanâ€™s Khrakhoba and Uryanoba villages, the ambassador said that it was very delicate question, because the question is a human life: â€œI want to note Azerbaijanâ€™s great patience and constructive position. This position is based on peopleâ€™s reaching this state without their guilt. Thatâ€™s why it is needed to approach this question very delicately. We have not been consulting only with Azerbaijan, I myself have visited these villages with my Azerbaijani counterparts for 3 times. We have discussed this situation with village residents for a long timeâ€.

The ambassador said that there were forces which wanted to politicize this issue: â€œThere are separate forces which want to politicize this issue in Russia, Dagestan. It is not good, we need to think of people. The main thing is that people should understand their new historical situation and living in Azerbaijani lands. Thatâ€™s why they have they have two ways â€“ to stay in Azerbaijanâ€™s territory, to legalize their situation basing on local legislation. If they donâ€™t want it, then it is needed to leave. We are ready to help them basing on migration program. Azerbaijani side is also ready to help. One part of people decided to naturalize in Azerbaijan, another part desire to leave for Russia. The process is underway and we will finish this process considering the peopleâ€™s interestsâ€.
