III Conference of Azerbaijani Youth Organization in Russia holds in St. Petersburg

According to APAâ€™s accredited correspondent to St. Petersburg, at the conference was demonstrated film devoted to the activity of the AYOR within two years.

Speaking at the conference, Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chairman of the AYOR Leyla Aliyeva noted that the organization acts only two years. â€œDuring this time achieved rather good results. AYOR, along with Moscow, is active in all regions of Russia. Organization held a number of important actions. The most important of them is campaign "Justice for Khojalyâ€. In the framework of this campaign have been held many events in some countries of the world and realities about the Khojaly Tragedy have been delivered to the world community. I hope that the Nagorno Karabakh problem will find a fair solution within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijanâ€, - Leyla Aliyeva said.

According to her, in their activities, AYOR pays special attention to such areas as education, culture, health, etc. In this regard, much work has been slipped in promoting Azerbaijani culture, language and history.

In the area of health, AYOR conducted a broad campaign to combat drug addiction and donation.

Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov in his speech said that the AYOR took a very good decision to hold the conference in the northern capital of Russia. He spoke about the state program on youth policy for 2011-2015. â€œAccording to statistics in Russia live 170 000 Azerbaijani youth and activity of AYOR provide moral and physical support for themâ€.

Head of the Department of Political Analysis and Information Support of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Elnur Aslanov spoke about the history of the Azerbaijani-Russian relations. "2011 is a very important year in the history of Azerbaijan and Russia. This year the two countries mark the 20th years of independence. Over the years relations between our countries successfully developed. Our youth charged with the mission to further strengthen of these relations", - he said.

The military commander served in 1991, in Khojavend and Fizuli districts General lieutenant Alexander Volokh said in speech that Haydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan during that hard times. "Azerbaijan is now developing rapidly, but we and the youth of the country can not accept the fact of occupation of Azerbaijani lands. The main challenge of Azerbaijani youth is to restore territorial integrity and protect the sovereignty of the country", - he said.

Secretary General of the OIC Youth Forum Elshad Iskandarov read the message of OIC addressed to III Conference of AYOR.

Beside this the General Secretary of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Mikhail Krotov, chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy of St. Petersburgâ€™s Alexander Nikolaev, president of the St. Petersburg State University Lyudmila Verbitsky and others made a speech at the Conference.

Note that the conference will continue its work on June 5.
