UEFA bans Azeri team member Rashad Karimov

UEFA has imposed a ban on Rashad Karimov. The UEFA ban will prevent him playing for Azerbaijan national team against Portugal and Serbia in Baku. AFFA National Team Department chief Bahruz Asgarov told APA-Sport UEFA excluded Rashad Karimovâ€™s name from the national Azeri team list as the problem with footballerâ€™s actual age emerged.
â€œThere was misunderstanding about Rashadâ€™s birth date. According to AFFAâ€™s information we showed Rashadâ€™s birth date 1984. After it we got in contact with Rashad himself. He confirmed his birth date as 1986â€.
Baba Asgarov said this is Khazar-Lankaran clubâ€™s problem. â€œWe are not to blame. Khazar-Lankaranâ€ club should take responsibility or it. Tuygun Nadirov apologized for thatâ€.
Rashad Karimov will not be able to attend matches. If we knew his actual birth date he will be offered to play for the Olympic team. We lack prepared footballers in the Olympic team. /APA-Sport/
