Roman Berezovski: I was glad at UEFA decision to cancel Azerbaijan-Armenian match

â€œInclusion of Azerbaijan and Armenian team to the same group serves political goals. UEFA has been preventing these teams to compete in the same group for a long time. UEFA did not want to escalate confrontation between them. We should look into history. The question is that the roots of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenian go back to the early XX century, but not to 90s or 2000. UEFA might think that the match will bring about reconciliation between the states. But the parties did not agree on the question of site and UEFA cancelled the matchâ€, the goalkeeper of the national football team of Armenia Roman Berezovski was quoted as saying.
Berezovski said he was glad that the match with Azerbaijan did not take place.
â€œ I was glad at the cancelling the match with Azerbaijan. These words can be unpleasant for our fans. But I think as the relations with Azerbaijan is not so good this factor will make its impact on the match.
So the probability of making mistake increases. If I made mistake the people of Armenia would hate me. It is sport but in nay caseâ€¦â€ /APA-Sport/
