Azerbaijan squad picks two new footballers

Azerbaijan squad to join next European championship qualifying matches has been announced, APA-Sport reports.
Head coach Shahin Diniyev has picked 21 players. There are two new players in the party. Thus, FC Olimpik footballers Elvin Aliyev and Khagani Mammedov were included in the squad for the first time. After a long break the trainer also picked goalkeeper Rauf Mehdiyev, defender Emin Guliyev and midfielder Samir Aliyev. Only two legionnaries – Aleksandr Chertoganov and Branimir Subashich will play in the team. The trainer didn’t pick Ernani Pereyra, Andre Ladaga and Leandro Gomes this time.
Goalkeepers: Ferhad Veliyev (Inter), Jahangir Hesenzade (Garabagh), Rauf Mehdiyev (Olimpik).
Defenders: Samir Abbasov, Aslan Kerimov (Garabagh both), Ramin Guliyev (Baku), Zaur Heshimov (Inter), Elvin Aliyev (Olimpik), Emin Guliyev (Khazar-Lankaran).
Midfielders: Aleksandr Chertoganov, Samir Aliyev (Neftchi both), Elmar Bakhshıyev, Emin Imameliyev (Inter both), Jeyhun Sultanov, Ilgar Gurbanov (Khazar-Lankaran both), Ramazan Abbasov (Baku).
Forwards: Branimir Subashich (Neftchi), Kenan Kerimov, Vagif Javadov (Garabagh), Vugar Nadirov (Khazar-Lankaran), Khagani Mammedov (Olimpik).
Azerbaijan is to play against Poland on 2 June in Baku and Kazakhstan in Almaty four days later. /APA-Sport/
