Hamlet Isakhanli: I wrote letter of resignation from Executive Committee last year

â€œAbout a year ago AFFA secretary general Fuad Esedov made a statement that the issue on several Executive Committee members would be considered soon. I predicted the matter and wrote a letter of resignation but the federation rejected it noting that it is impossible until the deal expiresâ€, Khazar University president Hamlet Isakhanli who was deprived of power in last AFFA conference told APA-Sport.
He thanked AFFA leadership for the decision as he was absent in the conference.
â€œTo tell the truth, I havenâ€™t seen the decision yet. If they dismissed me from Executive Committee, that means they took my resignation into accountâ€, he said.
Isakhanli also commented on the decision on application of â€œ5+2â€ legionary limit to the clubs, as well as national team.
â€œI was against picking more legionaries. I cannot understand the application of the decision to the squad. If the national team is composed of foreign footballers, it may look the squad of other country but not Azerbaijanâ€, he underscored. /APA-Sport/
