The World Bank has allocated 2 million dollars for the preparation of Baku's sustainable development project, APA-Economics reports, citing the World Bank.
According to the information, these funds have been allocated by the Bank to the Azerbaijani government for the preparation of the "Livable Baku" project aimed at improving the quality of the urban environment in Baku, enhancing resilience to natural disasters, and increasing the climate risk resilience of infrastructure. The grant was provided through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a structural division of the World Bank.
The grant is intended for the preparation of a technical and economic feasibility study, research on the reclamation of polluted natural lakes, cleaning of oil-contaminated areas, and the design of solid waste management facilities (landfills, waste transfer stations).
Note that the technical assistance period lasts until December 31, 2026. The project executor is the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
