Last year, the volume of transactions conducted by banks in Azerbaijan for the purchase and sale of cash U.S. dollars amounted to 4 billion 545.9 million, APA-Economics reports according to its claculations based on the report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, this figure is 44% higher compared to the previous year.
Note that during the reporting period, the purchase of cash U.S. dollars by banks made up to 1 billion 621 million 567 thousand decreasing by 1% compared to 2023, while the sale increased by 92.5%, reaching 2 billion 924 million 344 thousand.
During this period, the purchase of cash euros by banks made up 131 million 93.8 thousand increasing by 3.4% compared to 2023, while the sale made up 202 million 722 thousand decreasing by 1.6%.
Recall that during the period from January to December 2024, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) sold 7 billion 169.07 million U.S. dollars to banks during 95 currency auctions.
