"We do not expect violent skirmishes to continue in 2024 between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as significant progress has been made towards signing a peace treaty," says the forecast of the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a research and analysis unit of The Economist Group, APA reports.

According to the EIU forecast, the treaty will not be signed in 2024, but fruitful negotiations will continue: "Peace negotiations with Armenia: Azerbaijan and Armenia will continue to discuss the terms of their peace treaty, with Mr Aliyev dictating the terms of the agreement. Armenia will have to amend its constitution to relinquish its claim to Nagorny Karabakh; only after this will a peace treaty be signed."
