Within the framework of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) held in Baku, Orkhan Nazarli, Head of the State Tax Service of Azerbaijan, met with Sava Laketić, Executive Director of the Tax Administration of Montenegro, APA reports citing the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.
The meeting focused on cooperation opportunities between the tax authorities of the two countries, mutual areas of interest, and the importance of experience exchange in institutional development. The sides exchanged views on improving taxpayer services, applying digital technologies, and strengthening tax discipline.
Orkhan Nazarli said that the State Tax Service places great importance on cooperation with international partners, especially institutions at a similar stage of development. He expressed confidence that sharing knowledge and experience with Montenegro in the field of taxation would bring mutually beneficial results in the future.
In turn, Sava Laketić provided information on reforms and modernization processes underway in Montenegro’s tax administration and expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in this field.
