EUR 5.25 million have been allocated to Azerbaijan within the framework of the Azerbaijan Rapid Technical Assistance Facility (AZTAF) which is financed by the European Union and implemented by the World Bank, said AZTAF program coordinator Leyla Taghiyeva, APA reports.
According to her, the AZTAF program provides support to the government of Azerbaijan within the framework of 9 technical assistance activities.
Leyla Taghiyeva also touched upon technical assistance to support the improvement of water safety in Azerbaijan matter.
The program coordinator said that the main activities of the program include recommendations on strengthening water sector establishments for effective service, development of sustainable drinking water supply and wastewater management model in rural areas, mapping of water reservoirs, and raising awareness on sustainable management of water resources.
