As of May 31 this year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)’s active portfolio in Azerbaijan decreased by 1.3% or €13 million compared to the previous month (April), falling to €991 million. The number of active projects implemented was 34, EBRD told APA.
It was noted that 89% (€886 million) of the portfolio is invested in sustainable infrastructure, 5% (€50 million) in industry, commerce, and agribusiness, and 6% (€56 million) in financial institutions. In May, the volume of the bank’s operational assets in the country increased by 4.1% compared to the previous month, reaching €717 million.
Overall, the EBRD has invested €3.783 billion in Azerbaijan through 198 projects to date, of which €3.339 billion has already been disbursed by borrowers. The private sector's share in total investments stands at 38%.
