After the divorce from Microsoft founder Bill Gates, his wife Melinda received shares in a number of companies worth more than three billion dollars, APA reports citing Bloomberg.
Cascade Investment, an investment company set up by Bill Gates, transferred shares in another company to Melinda Gates, bringing the total it received since the couple announced their divorce to over $ 3 billion.
Thus, according to regulatory documents, the investment company transferred about 2.25 million shares worth about $ 851 million.
Bill and Melinda announced their divorce on May 4th. According to TMZ, the billionaire’s wife filed a petition for divorce. The Gates’ divorce was linked to the spouse’s contacts with the millionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. It was reported that concerns about Epstein’s involvement in criminal activity originated in Melinda in 2013, after the couple first met with a millionaire.
Epstein was convicted of creating a criminal network that allowed him to sexually exploit and abuse girls, including 14-year-olds. According to some reports, he was engaged in human trafficking until 2019. The American financier was detained on July 6, 2019 in New York. In August of the same year, he took his own life in a prison cell, without waiting for the trial.
