Last year, the volume of transactions carried out by banks in Azerbaijan on the purchase and sale of cash Russian rubles amounted to 8 billion 376.9 million, according to APA-Economics' calculations based on Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee.
The volume of this indicator decreased by 2.1 times or 9.1 billion Russian rubles compared to the previous year.
Note that during the reporting period, banks' purchases of cash Russian rubles decreased by 2.6 times compared to 2023, amounting to 5 billion 712.1 million, while sales increased by 8.3%, amounting to 2 billion 664.9 million.
Recall that in 2024, the average exchange rate of 1 Russian ruble was 0.0182 manat.
