Azerbaijan's state debt accounts for 21.7% of GDP

As of January 1, 2025, the state debt of the Republic of Azerbaijan (domestic and external state debt) amounted to AZN 27,380.2 million. This accounts for 21.7% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of AZN 126,337.0 million for 2024, the Ministry of Finance released information, APA-Economics reports.

It was noted that 8,720.5 million manats (5,129.7 million US dollars), or 31.8% of the total state debt, falls on external state debt, while 18,659.7 million manats, or 68.2%, accounts for domestic state debt.
