As of October 1of this year, Azerbaijan's public debt amounted to 25 billion 365.1 million manat, which is 19.5% of the gross domestic product (GDP), APA-Economics reports, citing the Ministry of Finance.
According to the information, during this period, the domestic public debt was 17 billion 46.8 million manat, and the foreign public debt was 4 billion 893.1 million US dollars (8 billion 318.3 million manat).
Note that compared to the corresponding period of last year, the domestic public debt decreased by 0.85% or 146.1 million manat, and the foreign public debt decreased by 7.7% or 406 million dollars. Thus, the country's public debt decreased by 836.3 million manat compared to the same period of last year.
Recall that during the reporting period, public debt service expenses amounted to 1 billion 516.8 million manat, of which 1 billion 66.8 million manat was directed to external public debt and 449.9 million manat to domestic debt.
