The excise tax rate on alcoholic beverages is being increased, APA reports.
This is reflected in the draft law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026."
Currently, an excise tax rate of 4.8 manat per liter is applied to potable alcohol (including undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol content not less than 80%; undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol content less than 80%), arak (vodka), fortified beverages and fortified beverage materials, liqueurs and liqueur products, as well as cognac and cognac materials.
According to the draft, the excise tax rate for these products will be raised to 5 manat.
The excise tax rate on energy drinks is increased from 3.1 manat to 3.3 manat per liter, and on unfortified alcoholic beverages (with an alcohol content not exceeding 9%) from 0.4 manat to 0.5 manat per liter.
The excise tax rate on cigarillos (thin cigars), cigarettes made from tobacco and their substitutes is raised from 45.5 manat to 55 manat per 1000 units.
