Azerbaijan became Georgia's 5th major trading partner in the first quarter of 2024, National Statistics Office of Georgia released information, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.

According to the information, during the reporting period, Georgia imported goods and products worth USD 208.84 million from Azerbaijan, which is 14.5% less in annual terms. Georgia's exports to Azerbaijan, on the other hand, decreased by 26.7% in comparison with the previous year, amounting to $191.94 million.

This year, the volume of trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to USD 400.79 million, which is USD 105.32 million or 20.8% less in annual terms.

During the reporting period, Türkiye was Georgia's main trading partner with USD 964.06 million. The other countries in the top five were Russia (USD 836.8 million), China (USD 497.54 million), and the USA (USD 479.7 million), respectively.
