“In recent years, the Middle Corridor has begun to gain strategic importance,” said Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice President Yingming Yang during his speech at the panel titled “Middle Corridor: From Reliability to Efficiency” held within the framework of the V Tbilisi Silk Way Forum, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to him, the corridor has the potential to become a major trade route between Europe and Asia.
“The Middle Corridor has become a dynamic trade route between China and Europe. The volume of cargo flows attracted to the corridor suggests that the project will continue its sustainable development in the coming years,” Yang noted.
The ADB official added that the success of the Middle Corridor depends on the partnership of the governments of the participating countries, the support of financial institutions and the private sector.
