Azerbaijan institutes 107 criminal cases on tax crimes Jan-Sep

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan Taxes Ministryâ€™s Department for Preliminary Investigation of Tax Crimes initiated 141 criminal cases on tax evasion, illegal business and other tax crimes against individuals and legal entities during January-September.
The ministry said after preliminary investigation, 38 cases for tax evasion and 6 cases for illegal business and 1 case for sales of goods without excise seal and 1 case for misappropriation have been set to court for consideration.
26 criminal cases were canceled as the wrongdoers made payment in equivalent to their tax evasion.
A total of AZN 7.025 million in the form of fine was paid to the state budget. 30 people were arrested for tax crimes. Materials about 91 legal and individual bodies, who were accused of illegal business and tax evasion, were sent to tax authorities. 21 people were detained after a search for tax dodgers and wrongdoers and handed over to the Department and whereabouts of 292 wrongdoers were identified.
