Baku-APA.The UK Labour party potentially lost 27 percent of voters, who cast their ballot for party at the last general elections, in its referendum campaign, persuading British nationals to vote for the Remain camp, according to the poll, APA reports quoting Sputnik.

One in four UK Labour voters is unlikely to support the party any more after the Brexit referendum, local media reported on Tuesday, citing an internal survey conducted by YouGov.

The party potentially lost 27 percent of voters, who cast their ballot for Labour at the last general elections, in its referendum campaign, persuading British nationals to vote for the Remain camp, the poll shows, according to The Guardian.

According to the survey, another reason the number of Labour voters dropped is presumably linked to unpopularity of party leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Earlier in the day, Corbyn lost a no-confidence vote in the party, which was displeased with his leadership, but refused to resign.

On June 23, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union. According to the final results, 51.9 percent of voters, or 17.4 million people, decided to support Brexit, while about 16.1 million opposed it.
