It is important that the Armenian government continues to create a favorable environment for Russian investors, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yekaterinburg, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

According to him, Moscow expects Armenia to protect the rights and legitimate interests of Russian investors.

Mishustin stressed that Russia hopes to develop relations with the new Armenian government to be formed following the June 7 parliamentary elections.

"Moscow expects Russian-Armenian relations to continue developing in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness, mutual respect, and consideration of each other's interests," he said.

Speaking at the meeting, Pashinyan expressed hope that the problematic issues between Armenia and Russia would be resolved. He noted that Armenia remains interested in participating in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

"This meeting is a good opportunity to discuss the full spectrum of the bilateral agenda and compare notes," Pashinyan said.

The Armenian prime minister stated that Armenia intends to discuss and clarify all issues and nuances constructively.

"Recently, some problematic issues have emerged, and I hope we will discuss and resolve them. Both before and after the elections, we are committed to further developing our relations with the Russian Federation. Of course, we are interested in our participation in the EAEU and in ensuring that the mechanisms envisaged by the EAEU Treaty function as intended," he said.

Pashinyan added that this is also important for the future development of the EAEU.
