Parliament speakers of Azerbaijan and Zimbabwe hold meeting

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zimbabwe Jacob Mudenda, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, the Milli Majlis Press and Public Relations Department told APA.

The meeting noted that political relations between Azerbaijan and Zimbabwe are at a good level and that there are favorable opportunities to further expand bilateral cooperation in various areas. It was recalled that the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe paid a state visit to Azerbaijan, during which productive discussions were held between the heads of state.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to cooperation with Zimbabwe within the framework of international parliamentary organizations. It was noted that regular contacts continue within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN), and that there are favorable opportunities to further expand relations on these platforms.

Jacob Mudenda expressed his satisfaction with his official visit to Azerbaijan and with being at the Milli Majlis, and shared his positive impressions of the capital, Baku, which has developed rapidly in recent years.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
