Türkiye hopes that the gas hub on its territory will be launched in 2024, Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, APA reports citing TASS.
"I think we can complete this initiative by 2024," he said.
"We are now discussing this project with Gazprom, with our partners, namely, we want to create an electronic platform. I think this process will not take much time, maybe it will take a year to create this mechanism," he added.
The Energy Minister also said that Türkiye would like to create the opportunity for the participation of its Istanbul financial center in the work.
"We would like to develop the competencies of energy trade, as well as trade in mineral resources," he said.
