The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has launched an investigation into the attack on the leader of the "For Georgia" party, former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.
According to the statement of the organization, the investigation is being conducted under Article 126 (violence) of the Criminal Code.
"For Georgia" party also issued a statement regarding the incident. It was reported that Gakharia was in Batumi for a court hearing when he was attacked. The party blamed the ruling party for the incident.
Noted that Giorgi Gakharia, who was attacked last night, was reported to have a broken nose and a concussion. He left the clinic where he was taken by an ambulance team of his own free will.
