On July 28, the European Commission summoned Russia’s chargé d’affaires over a series of incidents related to Russia’s actions. Among the reasons cited were a Russian missile striking the Latvian consulate in Kyiv and Russian drones violating Romanian airspace, UA News reports.
The European Commission stated that this was a response to threats to the security of EU countries and a demonstration of its position regarding Russia’s actions.
On July 28, the EU summoned the Russian ambassador over the violation of Romanian airspace by Russian drones.
“Today we summoned Russia’s chargé d’affaires to the EU as part of our response to the flight of Russian drones over Romanian airspace and the destruction of the Latvian honorary consulate,” El Anouni said.
He explained that the EU had expressed “strong condemnation of the deliberate violation of Romania’s airspace by Russian drones.”
“This reckless act signals a serious escalation on Russia’s part and threatens the safety of EU citizens, regional stability, and international peace,” the European Commission spokesperson emphasized.
According to a “European Truth” correspondent in Brussels, this was reported by European Commission spokesperson Anouar El Anouni.
The European Commission has submitted a list of 11 laws to the Verkhovna Rada as a condition for receiving 4 billion euros.
