Türkiye is ready to mediate in any way, including the exchange of prisoners, if requested by the parties involved in the events in Israel and Palestine, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in his address to the nation after the Cabinet meeting, APAreports.
Erdogan also called on the parties to refrain from targeting the civilian population:
"War also has its rules and ethics. Parties are obliged to adhere to them. As we always say, there is no righteousness in an unjust peace. Neither Israel nor Palestine should agree to the shedding of innocent blood on their lands. I believe that there will be no peace in the region until an independent, sovereign, and territorially integral State of Palestine, with its capital in Jerusalem, is established within the 1967 borders. We are also making the necessary preparations to send humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza who are in need." - Erdogan stated.
