In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan imported 2,456 passenger cars worth $82.8 million from Georgia, the foreign trade portal of the National Statistics Office of Georgia said, APA's local bureau reports.
Compared to the same period last year, the value of imports decreased by 35.6%, while the number of imported vehicles fell by 1.8 times.
In January-June, Georgia exported a total of 38,759 passenger cars worth $938 million, of which 6.34% were shipped to Azerbaijan.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan ranked fifth among the countries importing the largest number of cars from Georgia. Kazakhstan (13,068 units), Kyrgyzstan (10,701 units), Iran (5,086 units), and Tajikistan (2,966 units) occupied the top four positions.
