In January-May of this year, 15,427.4 thousand tons of oil were transported via oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 3.4% less in an annual comparison, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
75.5% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and 11,646.1 thousand tons of oil were transported via this pipeline during the reporting period, which is a 2.84% less in an annual comparison.
During the reporting period, 83% or 9,711.4 thousand tons of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline was oil produced in Azerbaijan (a decrease of 0.4%), while 16.6% or 1,934.7 thousand tons (a decrease of 13.5%) was oil imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
Recall that last year, 38,752.1 thousand tons of oil were transported via oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 2.5% less in an annual comparison. 76% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and 29,470.9 thousand tons of oil were transported through this pipeline during the reporting period, which is 2.4% less in an annual comparison.
