In the First Half of 2023, SOCAR transported 1,1 bcm of gas from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, through the Sangachal terminal, including the installation at Oil Rocks, which is 45% less in annual comparison, APA-Economics reports citing BP's report.
During the reporting period, an average of 6 mln cubic meters of gas was transported from ACG to SOCAR per day.
“The rest of the produced associated gas was re-injected to the collector to keep the pressure”, reads the report.
Note that a part of the gas produced in ACG is given to SOCAR at no charge.
Notably, the share distribution in ACG is as follows: BP – 30.37% (operator), AzACG (SOCAR) – 25.00%, MOL – 9.57%, "Inpex" – 9.31%, "Equinor" (formerly Statoil) – 7.27%, ExxonMobil – 6.79%, TPAO – 5.73%, Itochu – 3.65% and ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL) – 2.31%.
