In January–February of this year, 4,055.1 thousand tons of oil were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline, which is 8.5% less in an annual comparison, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
77% of oil transportation through the main oil pipelines in Azerbaijan during the reporting period accounted for BTC.
During the reporting period, 83.1% or 3,368.7 thousand tons of the oil transported via the BTC pipeline consisted of oil produced in Azerbaijan (a 9.4% decrease), while 16.9% or 686.4 thousand tons (a 3.5% decrease) accounted for oil coming from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
Note that last year, 36,306.2 thousand tons of oil were transported via oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 6.3% less in an annual comparison. Of the total transportation, 74.9% was carried out through BTC, and during the reporting period, 27,179.2 thousand tons of oil were transported via this pipeline, which is 7.8% less year-on-year.
During the reporting period, 84.8% or 23,056.9 thousand tons of the oil transported via the BTC pipeline consisted of oil produced in Azerbaijan (a 4.6% decrease), while 15.2% or 4,122.3 thousand tons (a 22.2% decrease) accounted for oil coming from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
