Oil production in Azerbaijan dropped by 7%

During January-August of 2023, 20,3 mln. tons of oil (including condensate) was produced in Azerbaijan, and the export was 17 million tons, Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov made a post on his X (former Twitter) account in this regard, APA-Economics reports.

"According to operational data in January-August, oil-condensate production was 20.3 million tons, and export was 17 million tons. During this period, 15.8 bcm out of the 32.2 bcm gas produced with an increase of 5 % was exported," the post reads.

Note that during January-August of 2022, 21,8 mln. tons of oil (including condensate) was produced in Azerbaijan. During the reporting period, 17,6 mln. ton of oil (including condensate) was exported. Thus, in annual comparison, during January-August of 2023, oil and condensate production in Azerbaijan dropped by 6,88%, and export by 3,41%.
