On May 18, 2024, the “Zangilan” and “Shayifli” small hydropower plants, built on the Okhchuchay River in the Zangilan district, were officially commissioned, the Ministry of Energy told APA.
The “Zangilan” SHPP consists of two hydro units, each with a capacity of 5.25 MW, for a total installed capacity of 10.5 MW. Similarly, the “Shayifli” SHPP also has two hydro units of 5.25 MW each, making up the same total capacity of 10.5 MW.
Since the start of operations up until May of this year, the “Zangilan” SHPP has generated 25.1 million kWh of electricity, while the “Shayifli” SHPP has produced 29.8 million kWh.
