The global crisis, accompanied by disruptions in global oil and energy supply chains, as well as a 30 percent reduction in overall supply, has demonstrated that the main priority today is secure and reliable energy supply, Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said during his speech at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, in this context, amid geopolitical changes, the reshaping of transit routes, and growing uncertainty, Azerbaijan's strategic importance is increasing further under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
“Connecting the Caspian Sea with the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Adriatic Sea through stable routes, Azerbaijan is not only a reliable energy supplier but also an important strategic actor that has turned the Caspian region into one of the key logistics and connectivity hubs of the Middle Corridor,” the minister noted.
According to him, if in the 20th century the strength of states was mainly measured by production volumes, in the 21st century the main factors determining that strength are secure routes, connectivity, and reliable partnerships. Azerbaijan is one of the rare countries that combines all of these advantages.
