A regional meeting was held on June 12 in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic region to discuss the “State Program for 2026–2030 on the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan,” approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 25, 2026, APA's Karabakh bureau reports.
The event was organized to ensure the implementation of the instructions given by President Ilham Aliyev during the meeting dedicated to agricultural issues held on May 25, 2026, under his chairmanship, as well as the coordinated, prompt and efficient implementation of the measures envisaged in the State Program across the regions.
Representatives of relevant state institutions, as well as farmers and entrepreneurs from the districts of Zangilan, Jabrayil, Gubadli, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Khojaly, Khojavand, Shusha, Kalbajar and Lachin attended the event.
Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, spoke about the priorities identified by President Ilham Aliyev regarding the development of the agricultural sector and the issues discussed during the meeting held in this direction. He also provided participants with detailed information on the key objectives set by the new State Program.
The Special Representative noted that the program serves to increase productivity in the agricultural sector, strengthen food security and develop local production.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Vahid Hajiyev stated that achieving the targets envisaged in the State Program depends on the joint efforts of all relevant institutions, entrepreneurs and farmers. Drawing attention to President Ilham Aliyev’s calls addressed to entrepreneurs operating in the agricultural sector, the Special Representative noted that replacing imported products with local production, increasing the level of self-sufficiency and ensuring the active participation of the private sector in the implementation of the State Program are among the key tasks.
He also stressed the importance of beginning the implementation of the tasks arising from the program without delay and ensuring the active involvement of all parties in the process.
