The modern Azerbaijani state is a product of Heydar Aliyev's genius, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova said at today's plenary session of parliament, APA reports.
The Speaker noted that June 15 – National Salvation Day holds an exceptional place in Azerbaijan's history: “Heydar Aliyev's return to power was the historic choice of the people. Thanks to the National Leader's ability to respond to the challenges of the time, independent Azerbaijan was preserved. Our country became a center of global economic and political events. The modern Azerbaijani state is a product of Heydar Aliyev's genius. Heydar Aliyev is also the founder of today's parliament. The end of the 30-year occupation of our lands and Azerbaijan's transformation into a strong state are the result of the consistent continuation of Heydar Aliyev's political course. On the eve of National Salvation Day, we commemorate the cherished memory of Heydar Aliyev. The Azerbaijani state, strengthened by Heydar Aliyev's wisdom, will continue to achieve successes in the future.”
