The “Strong Armenia” political bloc in Armenia has appealed to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), demanding that the results of the parliamentary elections held on June 7 be declared invalid, Sputnik Armenia reports.

According to the information, the appeal to the CEC was submitted by Aram Vardevanyan, a representative of the “Strong Armenia” bloc.

Speaking to journalists, he said the bloc possesses numerous pieces of evidence regarding alleged violations.

“The authorities, which have consistently claimed to conduct the fairest and most transparent elections, failed to substantiate these claims in practice. Even the assessments of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights indicate serious regression,” Vardevanyan said.

According to him, the party submitted to the CEC not only an official appeal but also information regarding what it considers large-scale violations that occurred on election day and during the pre-election period.

It should be noted that the “Strong Armenia” bloc is led by Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan.
